Dancing, Sports Day, Ice-cream, World Cup tournaments and more….
Our Active Week 2022 kicked off with class trips to the astro turf pitch for some class games. On Tuesday, each class was given a chance to take part in fun circuits with Ms Ryan. On Wednesday we had Jersey Day, where children wore a variety of colourful jerseys to school. On Thursday Gráinne Kennedy did some fun dance activities with all the students, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Our day ended with a whole school performance of ‘I’m Still Standing’ which the students have been practicing for weeks and prizes were given to the best dancers from each class. See some photos below!
On Friday we had our annual Sports Day! It kicked off that morning with our Friday Disco! Students were then divided into teams with team members from each class and sixth class as team leaders. Students visited each station where they got to participate in a variety of fun activities such as: Parachute games, yoga, sack race, obstacle course and tug of war. See some photos below!
After all the sports day activities, the students got a great surprise when an ice-cream van pulled into the yard! All students (and teachers) were delighted to receive an ice-cream cone, a nice treat after a busy week! See some photos of some very happy students below!
After lunch the students watched the Junior and Senior finals of our World Cup tournament. We are going to make this an annual tournament and carry on our new tradition of presenting the winners with the Vincent Brennan Cup!
