This month in 5th class we have been working hard on letter writing. We chose to write a letter to people who have influenced us to date. The children wrote to sports stars, authors, artist and family members.
The children asked for advice and told their idols all about their shared passions. The children hoped for replied but were conscious that their idols are very busy. Despite this, two children in the class got a reply to their letters.
Kiya McCann got a heartfelt letter from Rachel Blackmore about being a jokey and how to overcome falling off your horse. Erin Doyle Norton got a reply from J.K Rowling thanking her for her letter and discussed the Harry Potter series. The entire class was thrilled with the replied.
As a treat, when we walked down to the post office, the class popped into the shop for something sweet.
