This year, all classes start their day with a morning circle as part of our Wellbeing Improvement Plan. Research supports the use of morning cirlces to help create a nurturing, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environment, which is essential for a child’s overall development, not only academically but also socially and emotionally. It enables children to feel valued, heard, and ready to engage with their daily learning experiences in a positive way.
In the circle, the children are given an opportunity to greet each other, we explore school values, we discuss the plan and expectations for the day and we finish the circle with a positive activity such as a would you rather question or a riddle. Everyone is really enjoying our morning circles!
