On Monday our class was lucky enough to be chosen to plant three apple trees on the school grounds. The trees were kindly donated by Summerhill tidy town committee.
Mr Brennan showed the class the various parts of the tree and explained the importance of the roots. The children planted each tree, shovelled the soil over the roots and watered the tree to ensure it continues to grow.
We all look forward to the tasty apples that will grow in the coming years.
