The children in Senior Infants have been impressing their teacher with their wonderful artistic skills. Last week, the children learned all about Mat Man. They now know how to draw people, making sure to include a head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, body, arms, hands, legs and feet by singing their song.
They then moved onto learning all about self portraits. The children now know that self portraits are pictures of our heads/faces, neck and shoulders. The children practiced using their whiteboards and markers. Take a look!

They listened to the directions and made sure to include their eyes, nose, ears and mouth. Some even drew eyelashes, hair and earrings! They then drew the same portrait on a piece of paper and began to paint.

Doing this activity allowed us to discuss the fact that each and every one of us is different. Children commented on having different coloured eyes, hair and skin. They paid great attention to detail and I look forward to more Art lessons with them!
Well done, Senior Infants!
