December was a month full of fun, creativity and energy in Junior Infants!

The children took part in a wide variety of activities to keep both their minds and bodies busy. They thoroughly enjoyed GAA, gymnastics and karate classes, where they showed off some very impressive skills.

In art with Ms Foley, the children got creative. They made beautiful Christmas tree decorations out of clay and designed festive Christmas cards using straw stamping and colourful buttons.

December also meant Nativity practice. The children worked extremely hard learning their lines and songs and loved practising for their big performances. A dress rehearsal for other classes in the school gave them a chance to shine before their final performance for parents. The highlight was most probably the Donkey Song, which was sung with great enthusiasm! A huge thank you to parents for all your support, rehearsing lines and songs with your children, and lending staffs for our shepherds.

We celebrated Christmas Jumper Day today, with the children arriving in their festive jumpers, filling the classroom with colour, cheer and lots of smiles. We also had a very special visit from Santa! Santa took time to chat with the children and spread plenty of Christmas cheer, making it a truly magical experience for everyone.

We have really enjoyed having Ms Foley with us on work experience. Along with all the festive fun, the children learned about toys from the past and made lovely links to our Irish theme, An Siopa Bréagán (The Toy Shop).

As December comes to a close, we are very much looking forward to the Christmas break, a well-earned rest, and an exciting new year full of fun activities ahead.

Well done, Junior Infants, you’ve had a brilliant month!
